hello; it sounds like the following somehow got disabled, Include this group in send/receive (F9) were you in the send/receive settings?
if I remember correctly; Outlook 2010 alt+f=file, T=options, The Outlook Options window opens.click on Advanced and scroll down to Send and receive and click on the Send/Receive button. here press a=advance, now use the tab key send and receive, press enter now look for; Include this group in send/receive (F9) make sure this is checked.
