Openbook can save a doc to speech,
I think, it's in the alt + F menu, when you are ready to save...

Som laptops have a microphone next to the built in web cam just above the
screen. On a desktop computer, you do not have this. A pretty good
microphone can be had for around $10 on Ebay or Amazon.
