Hi, I also have had this happen. Like you, it has been happening since I downloaded Jaws 16.

The connection between the two and the remedy for this problem eludes me.

The best I can do is to have as few applications running as possible. Then, when it happens, use the Control Alt and delete and then Tab to "Shutdown..." This will give me the chance to find the "Reboot".

It's not a great solution, but it's the best I've come up with. At least, it's better than just pushing the Power Off button.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] "File Manager Not Available" Message with JAWS 16

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with this problem? I have a new Toshiba laptop, and
using JAWS 16 and repeatedly get a message saying "File Manager Not
Available". This often begins with closing a file using Alt, F followed by
X. After several file managers not being able to shut, I am unable to
access any further documents, the desktop or folders. I have to shutdown
the computer and begin again.

Any thoughts?
