Hello. I am replying to the message about whether Windows 8.1 is harder to use than Windows 7. I really think that Windows 8.1, make sure you have 8.1, is much easier to use than Windows 7. Here are some reasons why. There are many more search edit boxes where you can put a few words in and find what you want. You don't have to go through all of the drives and folders to find things. Also, the desktop is exactly the same as Windows 7. Also, there is a setting that you can easily find that will put the computer on the desktop by default when the computer is first turned on. The files explorer is much easier to use, because you look for "this PC" in the tree view, and everything you need is right under that, like documents, music, and so on. There is a search field in the control panel. You don't have to look for anything in the control panel. You can go to the control panel and put a few words in the search and find what you are looking for in the search results. The start screen is much better, because there are all kinds of apps on there that you can use with JAWS. Starting with JAWS 15, the touch cursor is available which simulates touching the screen by using the keyboard. Also, I have had no better security than I have experienced with 8.1. It is much faster. Also, there many more windows key commands which can get you to where you want to go much faster. I really suggest 8.1 over Windows 7 any day. Go and get it now.
