I read, that the update will be for a free about life cycle of the machine, where it is installed, from two till 4years. I don't know, how life cicle is counting, but..

My understanding of this is, that they are going to follow the Apple model.
The apple owners get regular updates without further payments for each
update.

again with a new subject.
Is Windows 10 going to be a truly free product, or will there be an annual
fee for upgrades? Consider the model used by most software manufacturers,
like FS where getting updates requires payment.
What's the current wisdom on this question?
