Below are basic steps I wrote for those that are new to using AutoSizer with Jaws.
I used XP & AutoSizer version 1.6 for the info below, but if I remember correctly, the steps below will work with later operating systems & later versions of AutoSizer. By default AutoSizer assigns Notepad, Outlook Express, & internet Explorer to open in the maximized state. If you want to assign AutoSizer to maximize other windows do the following. I always make sure all windows are closed & start at the Desktop. 1. From the desktop, open the program / window you want to work with. For example, let's use MS Word so, open a new Word document 2. Open the system tray, arrow to AutoSizer, & press enter to open its context menu. 3. Arrow down to, Open, press enter, & you'll be on the Currently Open Windows group box. This will be a list of all currently open windows. 4. Arrow Up / down & highlight the window you want to work with. With the window highlighted, tab 1 time to, Current Open Windows AutoSize button, & press the spacebar to open. This will put you in the, Action to Perform combobox., with Maximize, highlighted & being the first option in the combobox. 5. With, Maximized, ighlightted, & providing this is what you want AutoSizer to do with the window, tab to the Okay button, press the spacebar to save, press, Alt + H, to hide Autosizer, & then, Alt + tab, away from the window to make sure AutoSizer is hidden. Whenever you work in AutoSizer you always want to hide it, rather than exit it, if you choose exit, that wil close the program, & you will have to restart the program via your AutoSizer shortcut icon. If you want to remove a window that you previously assignnedAutoSizer to maximize or, any other action, do the following: 1. Open the system tray, arrow to AutoSizer, & press enter to open its context menu. 2. Arrow down to, Open, press enter, & you'll be on the Currently Open Windows group box. This will be a list of all currently open windows. 3. Tab to the, Windows Targeted by AutoSizer list, highlight the window you want to remove, tab to the, Remove button, & press the spacebar. 4. Press, Alt + H, to hide Auto Sizer. With AutoSizer open it would be a good idea to tab around & get familiar with the other options AutoSizer has to offer. Take care.
