I do not really know what is causing Thunderbird to crash .
all I know is I start up my computer and open my Thunderbird program and
it crashes at times.
I am running windows 8.1 jaws 15 and Thunderbird 38.1.0

Which crashes - Thunderbird or your computer? I've reduced the number
of Thunderbird crashes by deleting messages in the sent box to about 3
months worth.My
Win7 machine has not crashed since I downloaded Thunderbird, thankfully.
