Hello Mike:
I tried to look at this for future reference, and make some notes. I went
to the set default programs link, and selected it. I am using internet
explorer as the browser. However, I did not find it in the list of programs.

Would you mind spelling this out in a little more detail? Sorry, if this
question is too elementary. But, I am still a novice.
 Thanks. Neil

If you had IE on your desktop before you updated to Windows 10, then it
should still be there. Open Control Panel, then Default Programs. Now, click
on Set Default Programs, and then select Internet Explorer. Tab down and
press enter on Set this program as default.

This will cause all links, web sites, etc. to open in Internet Explorer and
not Edge.

Hi, how did you get signed into Cortana with IE? I have IE set as my default
in the default programs; however, when I want to sign in to my Microsoft
account to use it, the Edge browser opens. All other links and sites act as
they should.
