Also, ensure that the relevant window is maximized before you right-click. I've sometimes found that the JAWS right-mouse key opens the 'correct' menu then only . A reason for it not working when you arrow etc, could be that the virtual cursor is not placed exactly where it could right-click on the element.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for this info. This worked using your method. I wonder why using the
right click key on the numb pad does not bring up the correct menu? I tried
using the header key (H) but when I tried the application key that did not
work either. It only workds when you tab to the link then hit the
application key that you get the correct menu to click on open in new tab.

Thanks for your help.

Ed

Hi Ed,

Instead of arrowing to the link, try tabbing to the link, & then press the
applications key to open the context menu, a different context menu will
open. This is what works for me.
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] right clicking on a link

Hi,

I am using W7 and IE9. When I am on the Google site and I land on a link and
I want to right click on that link to bring up the menu so I can open in new
tab the correct menu does not open. Can someone give me some instructions on
how to right click on the link. I use the forward slash on the numb pad but
it does not open the correct menu. But when I use the mouse and right click
on the link I get the correct menu.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ed
