I don't think you would have any issues going from win 8 to 8.1. Not sure about going from Win 8 to 10.

When it comes to drivers, it is best to obtain updates from the manufacturer of the device that the driver is being used for. If the device is working well, it is not always necessary to update the driver just because one is available. If you upgrade Windows itself you may have to obtain updated device drivers.
