Hi

With the scanner turned on, start OpenBook. Press alt+a to bring up the
Advanced menu and then press d for device selection. You should hear
something like acquisition source scanner. Now press tab one time and you
should hear the name of your scanner. But if it says no scanner or says
another scanner than what you have, you need to arrow up or down to find
your scanner. Once you have found your scanner, press enter to save the
choice. Then pressing space bar should make something happen.

Mike
after I installed with the scanner turned off, then restarted I turned on
the scanner, launched OpenBook and pressed spacebar to execute a scan,
nothing happened. from the menubar I selected aquire a new page and scanner
is announced I press tab and no scanner is announced the scanner is on it's
an hp office jet. the printer works fine. FS suggested I upgrade the
scanner drivers, I don't think that's what is needed to do!

Hi Kevin,

What problem are you having? I don't run Windows 10, but this sounds like a
Openbook issue regardless of the OS. Did you assign the default scanner to
be used after installing?
Take care.
