Jim,

Good thought, crossed my mind as well. Just tried and got
the same message that I need 6 GB of space to proceed.
Looks to me like the only solution is to move that restore
partition onto the memory card and then expand the primary
partition to make room. For the little I use this thing, not
sure it is worth doing as the tablet already has Windows 8.1
on it and I'm comfortable with that. Also, only use this
thing 2-3 times a year when traveling.
I mainly just wanted to give Windows 10 a play before
upgrading my main Windows 7 desktop unit.

Hi Alan,
Just a thought, since I do not have a tablet to test.
Put the Windows media creation tool on your micro memory
card, try running it, from there.
See if this will do the trick.
good luck.

Dave,

Not sure how I would connect that to the tablet as it only
has a microUSB connector for the power cable. Could I run
that tool from the 64 GB micro SD card I installed?

Best,
Al

Recommend you get a 20 Gb external solid state drive, and
run the media creation tool from there.

Looking for some ideas. I have a Dell Venue Pro 8 32 GB
tablet. I followed all upgrade advice FS had on their
website regarding JAWS. I have downloaded the media creation
tool and when I run it to install the upgrade on my tablet,
I get the message to free up additional space as the upgrade
needs 6 GB of space. I only have just under 4GB available.
Not much else I can do to free up room. Dell has a restore
partition that takes up 10 GB and I have MS Office installed
along with JAWS and that is about it. I installed a 64 GB
micro SD card in the expansion slot hoping some of that
could be used, but no go. Thought on getting rid of or
moving that hidden partition? Any ideas folks have would be
appreciated.

I know some folks on this list have the same
tablet so wonder how they are getting around this?

Best,

Al
