I have no problems accessing the emails in any of my folders using the navigation tip you provided or tabbing into list view, going to the folder of choice, & tabbing into the folder to read the emails but, I'm just trying to figure out why the progress bar isn't announcing in all folders except the Inbox. It was a jaws issue. Try using CTRL + Y then arrow down the list to find your folder. You can also you first letter navigation on this list. After you find the folder you want hit enter and you will be on the emails in the folder.
