I am not much help but I have worked with applications written in dot net and 
they worked just fine.  I do know that these were put together quickly and with 
out any customization of controls that sort of thing.  My guess is that some 
one had to much time on their hands and got creative and did not stay with the 
native controls.
If the application was written in house you could try contacting the developers 
and maybe find out what they did.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if JAWS 15 and or 16 work well or not at all with "Dotnet" 
applications.
Is there any guidelines that I could check out to see  what might need to be 
done as I was working on an insurance application recently and all JAWS would 
read out was the menus. I was told it was created in .net.
