Yes, I talked today with netgear tech support, and they told me that the UI of the r7000 or r8000 are html, so they should be fully accessible. More over the tech support told me that to do what ever in the routers, I will be able to do it from the UI in the router or from the apps installed in the computer, so for our case, install the apps is not necessary.
