Good afternoon, Jaws Users group.
Through further testing, and experimenting, I have changed my mind on Quick
Access.
In the new, File explorer options, I have reset my computer to use Quick
access, instead of This PC.
I still have access to, This PC icon on the desktop.
So, when I now do a Windows key+E, this opens up quick access instead of
This PC:
This is a vertical list of Programs, files, Drives, and other things, that I
have pinned to quick access.
Also, I have pinned quick access to the Start area as well.
Advantages:
1. This gives me more flexibility and convenience, of getting to more
shortcuts, more easily.
2. Not having the trouble closing windows that I was having.
3. I can still get to the list of my drives with the Desktop shortcut to,
This PC when needed.
4. I can pin a lot of items to this list, and first letter navigation works.
5. I can have recently used programs and other stuff appear under my, Quick
access pinned items in the same list.
6. I can pin the different drives on my computer like, C: drive, and Seagate
external drive, to quick access, these appear in the same list.
7. This Quick access shortcut shows up under its own Quick access group
header in the live tile region.
I will show you this week in an audio tutorial, how to make these changes.
I like it a lot better, things seem to be smoother with Jaws and with my
computer in general.
Remember: pressing the Windows key can both open and close the Start area,
just like pressing the ALT key, both opens and closes the file and ribbon
menus in W-10.
I hope this helps you, in personalizing, your w-10 computer.
