Hi Neil,
Yes, turn Jaws off before turning narrator on.
You can use the Tab key, arrow keys, and all window shortcut keystrokes and windows keyboard commands with narrator.
The Control key, stops narrator from speaking, just like Jaws.
Listen to my audio tutorial of using narrator in w-10.

Consider the snow flakes

Consider the snow flakes, as they fall, bright and beautiful one and all.
Watch the snowflakes as they fall, all are different, large and small
Look at the snowflakes as they fall, they are One of God's treasures, created for all. Consider Him, as the blizzard blows, let Him warm your heart, and give Him your soul. Take a walk with Him daily in the snow, pray and meditate on Him whenever you go.
Remember, God loves you and I, trust in His salvation before you die.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Win 10, narrator not working; don't die laughing

Hello Gang:

Just upgraded to Win 10. All my old desktop items are on the new desktop
and working. Nice surprise!

Before I deleted JAWS 16 and re-install JAWS 17, I thought I would test out
narrator. Windows + enter indeed starts narrator. However, when I strike the
arrow keys or tab/shift tab, all I hear is the name of the key or "unknown
key."

So, turned narrator off, and went to my desktop with windows E. Turned
narrator back on, but could not go anywhere on my desktop, with narrator.

Here is the laughable question:

I still had JAWS running. Does narrator not work with JAWS running?

If it does work while JAWS is running, how do I get narrator to do anything
other than announce the key I strike or say, "unknown key?"

I never used narrator, because I found it so un-useful.

I saw a place for different settings for narrator, but did not fool with
them. Just wanted it to work!

Smile, and thanks.

Neil
