Hi Tom,
What I always do is go to the Freedomscientific's download page and download
the entire new copy of JAWS that includes the update. I just save the
download to my computer and install JAWS all over again. That way, it always
works and you will have the update and a fresh installed copy of JAWS. Take

Strange thing happening here. Using Jaws version 17.0.1010 and Windows 10
Every time Jaws starts I get the message that Jaws updates are available and
do I want to install them. If I reply yes I get some chimes and Jaws goes
silent. If I activate the check for updates in the Jaws help menu the same
thing happens, Jaws goes silent. Tom
