are you using a third party spell check? most word processing programs have
their own spell and grammar check option
maybe it's a software conflict!

Even after the latest update I'm having a problem when working with a saved
word doc. After opening one, none of the key combos such as control/end,
control/home, control up or down arrow work. Strangely, after opening and
then closing Spell check they work just fine. Has anyone else out there
experienced this? Any suggestions?
