Jim, I had a stroke of bad luck with my computer the first of this week. It was an older computer and W10 on it but I had a bad crash and lost computer and all of the W10 group info I was saving. I bought a new computer thursday and I am starting fresh with nothing but zero. This computer is not tracking with the turtorials like the old computer. I have been trying to set up this computer but it does not track with you on the turtorials as well as the old computer but I am making some progress. The reason I just stated is one of the reasons I am having with bing and cortana as well as my hearing. Sorry about the long email. Thanks for the help

Hi Fred,
Try this:
Cortana and search settings.
Type Cortana and search settings into the search edit box, press enter, or
do the following.
Press Windows key+I, for Settings.
Shift+Tab, one time to, Search box, find a Setting edit.
Type Cortana, do not press enter.
Tab one time to the list box of results.
Press enter on, Cortana and search settings.
You will hear, Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts
and more, button.
My computer says, button, because I have Cortana turned off.
Tab again to, Manage what Cortana knows about me in the cloud link.
Tab again to, Improve search results for on device content, using my device
search history, button checked.
Tab again to, Clear all button.
Tab again to, Search on line and include web results button.
If you check this with the Spacebar, Bing results will show up in the Start
button search edit field.
***Reminder, An easier way for you to bring up Bing results is to do the
following:
Windows key+M or D, puts you on your desktop.
Press the F1 key, This opens a web Bing help page in your default browser.
Just press E, for the search edit field, type in what you are looking for
and press enter.
Press the letter H: for heading to jump through the results by heading.
This way your Search edit box will only show your stuff from your computer.
Tab again to, Other privacy settings link.
Tab again to, Learn more about Cortana and search link.
I hope this helps you...

Subject: [JAWS-Users] W10 turning off cortana and bing

I am using W10, WLM and latest jaws and I would like to know how to turn off
cortana and bing. I have tried listening to the turtorial but my hearing is
not good enough to understand some words. If you could give me step by step
instructions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks much,

Best wishes,
