This worked for me and I now have the Windows start up sound when I boot the
computer. There does not seem to be a shut down sound in the menu in the
sounds list. Tom

Steven,
Only way I know is to check the box to enable start up sounds and disable
the quick start. Other than this, you will get the startup sound when
restarting but not from a cold boot.
