Hello Kevin, Yes, it is the protected mode which is preventing you from reading the document. To remove the protected mode on a per document basis: 1. Open the document that is in protected mode and when you hear JAWS announce this document is in protected mode press the f6 key on your keyboard. You should now hear the same message again now tab to and press the spacebar or enter on the begin editing button. Hope that helps
