have you changed the speech verbosity?
there's 3 choices,
Use the options in this group to set the verbosity level. Verbosity
determines the amount of information spoken by JAWS. Each verbosity level is
preset to give a different amount of detail. Each level can be further
customized to give only the information you want to hear. The default
selection is Beginner, which gives the most detailed information.

I have not heard of this happening before. Have you made any significant
changes to the JAWS settings for Word? If not, it might be worthwhile
removing the word.jcf file from your "My settings" area of JAWS and seeing
if that fixes things.

Hi listers,
I'm using Jaws 16.0.4468 with MS Word 2010. I am spell checking a document,
and when I find a spelling error, I hear:
Spelling and Grammar English (US)
then the misspelled word
then spelling and Grammar English (US)
then blank where the correctly spelled word would be spoken
How can I set spell check to be less verbose and how can I restore the
normal reading of the correctly spelled word? As you can assume, it is
virtually impossible to spell check a document in this way, so if someone
can help me I would really appreciate it.
