That's because you need to re-define the function keys or maybe the FuncKey
modifier on your bottom row will change them back to the original function
each time you press it.
If not, tell us the brand of laptop and maybe there is a resolution to
modify the default behavior of your function keys. I know this is common on
HP computers, for example.

As stated before I got me a new laptop, the function key commands such as
insert f12 will not read the time. How do I make them work? No ordinary
commands that jaws uses with the function keys will work.
