Howdy All,

Sorry, but I needed to correct the subject line from my earlier post.

Hi Kimsan,

Below are steps to download & install Webvisum for earlier versions. I
don't recall if you have to create an account first, but creating an account
first would probably be best.

Once you have Firefox open, you need to go to the Web Visum website &
download the Web Visum add-on.  To do this do the folowing;
1. Open Firefox & press control +L, for a new web page.
2. Type in, webvisum, & press control + enter.
3. You will be on the Webvisum home page. Now, arrow down & you wil hear
Jaws read the following.

Heading Level1Download the WebVisum Firefox extension.

Current version: 0.9

Once you click on the add on installation link below, Firefox will notify
you that it has prevented the add on from being installed and will prompt
you to Allow the install to occur. Press ALT+A when you get this message and
allow the installation to proceed. Note: you might have to tab 1 time to
the, Install button, & press enter to install the download.

Now that you are ready, Link, install the WebVisum extension.

Should you need any help with this procedure, please let us know via the
Contact Us page. The installation procedure will be simplified in the near
future.

4. When you click on the download link & follow the directions that are
given, the add-on installs within a few seconds. You need to close Firefox &
reopen it. After you open Firefox, press alt + T, for Tools, & arrow down
the list to see if you hear, Webvisum submenu. If Webvisum is there., the
webvisum add-on has been installed.

If you would like Webvisum to Log-in automatically do the following;
1. Open Firefox & press Alt + T, for tools.
2. Arrow down to webvisum submenu & press enter.
3. Arrow down 1 time to preferences & press enter.
4. You will be on the General page so, now tab through to make your
selections. Press the spacebar on okay to save your changes & close
preferences.

When you open the webvisum submenus you can down passed preferences to see
what other options are in here. After you open preferences, you can arrow
down to see what other options there are, other than General.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Mike

Kimsan,

I'm not sure I understand your query. If you have an earlier version of
Firefox on your system, which your reference to v. 36 indicates, you would
download and install Webvisum from the Webvisum website:

www.webvisum.com/

You wouldn't need to follow the instructions Mike posted for later versions
because Firefox 36 did not impede Webvisum's performance.

I just did a Google search for the one word "Webvisum." You might find that
worthwhile.

Again, however, the current version of Firefox, 44, apparently won't work
with Webvisum no matter what workarounds you put in place. Also, be super
cautious when Web surfing with an old version of Firefox because its
security won't be up to date.

That did not work for me. However, I don't have the webvisum ad-on
installed hahaha so maybe that's why? Then again, it's not letting me do
the alt a thing to install it.

I have version 36 on my external hd, but that wouldn't install. It kept
saying downloaded was interrupted.
Is there a website to download older versions? I really need webvisum
hahaha, I always forget my passwords so I encounter capchas daily.

And, I'm to poor for that rumola thing, so let's not suggest that...

Mike,
Firefox is now at V. 44. As Dave posted, it appears Firefox no longer
enables this workaround. Anyone who avoid installing this version will run
security risks. It's a true loss.

Howdy Kimsan & Taron ,

Below are steps to get Webvisum to work in Firefox:

From: Carlos
WebVisum works in Firefox version 42. It will also work in version 43 if
you change the following setting.

Type
about:config
in the Firefox address bar and press enter. Confirm that you will be
careful if a warning page is displayed. Find the item labeled

xpinstall.signatures.require

in the list of options. Press Enter on the preference to toggle its value
so that it is set to false.

To stop Firefox from updating, open the
"Tools"
menu, select
"Options"
navigate to the
"Advanced"
tab, then to the
"Update"
tab, and make sure that the
"Never check for updates"
radio button is checked.

Note that WebVisum may or may not work in version 44 and will almost
certainly not work in version 45 if the developer does not sign the add-on.
If you want to continue using it at that point, either stop your existing
installation from updating as described above or install a second copy and
configure it not to update. You can then run the second copy only when you
need to use WebVisum. A portable copy of Firefox might be better for this
purpose which you can download here.
http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/portableapps/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20P
ortable%20Ed./

Take care.

Hi All,

I'm having trouble installing the webvism add-on for firefox.

I press enter on the download link and it comes up with a message saying
firefox prevented this add-on from installing,, press alt A to allow the
add-on to install.

I do this, but it won't install for some reason.

I have registered and account but still no luck.

Could someone please help off list with this one?
