Hi Gang, If you want Jaws to announce that you have a spelling error I will post below how to turn it on. How it works is if you miss spell a word and you either arrow on to the miss spelled word Jaws will announce "spelling error." It does not announce any spelling errors when you just have Jaws read the whole document or the whole line. The only time it announces "spelling error "
" is when you arrow word by word or arrow on to the miss spelled word. I believe this feature only works in MS Word or Outlook. Below is how to turn it on. If you go to the quick settings dialog while in the desired application with the JAWS key+v command. You can turn on the auto correct feature and then there is a spelling error detection option that can be selected in order to provide this type of feedback. Therefore, once you activate the quick settings dialog, type in auto in the search edit field. At this point, arrow down to auto correct and press the spacebar to check this item. Next, tab over to okay and hit enter. Once this is done, go back to the quick settings dialog, type spell in the search edit field. Now, arrow down to: Spelling error detection Press the spacebar to set this to your desired option, tab to okay and hit enter.
