Don, what I don't understand is that the excerpt states, "use the CTRL +
C keystroke to copy text with formatting from the
target system", good so far, "then use CTRL + V to paste text into a
file on the controller system.". why does it say control+v pastes it to
the controller's system, shouldn't control+v paste it to the target's
system?

Hi Mario,
While using JAWS Tandem, you can copy anything from her computer and
paste it somewhere else on her computer. You can also copy text from her
computer and paste it on your computer, but not the reverse; this is one of
the limitations.
You will discover other limitations as you go along. For example,
there are times when you might want to select some option on her computer,
but JAWS Tandem may not allow you to do so, but you can tell her to do it
herself.

Don, does this mean I can't perform a paste while working on her computer?
and could you explain what those limitations are?

Hi Mario,
I just copied the following exerpt from the JAWS Tandem Quick Start
Guide:
(Begin quote): "Remote Clipboard
Use the CTRL + C keystroke to copy text with formatting from the
target system, and then use CTRL + V to paste text into a file on the
controller system. This is ideal for support personnel who want to
copy specific text from a log file on the target system.
Note: Remote Clipboard will not transfer files." (end quote)
Further to this, you cannot copy text from your Controller computer
to the target computer, so you will have to either type in the link
you want her to have or send it to her by E-mail.
When you are in a JAWS Tandem session, it is just as if you are
sitting physically in front of her computer, so everything will act
according to the settings on her PC, including her 40-minute mode of JAWS.
I use JAWS Tandem frequently and find it very useful. However, for
security reasons, it does have its limitations.
Hope this helps,
Don

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Tandum, passing my clip board
hi gang, I might have the need to tandem with a friend to check out
what's the problem with her ailing computer, and I have a question I
can't find an answer to. rather than having my question not worded to
explain what it is I want to do, here it is:
I wanted to copy the address for Microsoft's Security (Safety) Scanner
from my computer to use it to download and run it on her computer
during the session. I expect not, but wasn't absolutely sure because I
heard of pressing insert+alt+tab to switch from her computer to my
computer, (and possibly back to her computer, although this wasn't
mentioned), and thought there might be a way of pasting some text, or
even a file, from my clip board to her computer after switching back to
her computer.
I realize she will have to download and install the same version of
the version I use, but will the tandem session talk at the demo speed
or my speed?
and are there any limitations of:
what I can do since her copy of JAWS is running as a demo?
what I can do as the controller if she had her own licensed copy of
JAWS running?
