Mike, What I'm about to say is vague, but maybe it will point you in a useful direction. I recall that AOL bought the old Netscape browser, and somehow Netscape has become intertwined with Firefox. I also vaguely recall having Firefox problems when I inadvertently installed some AOL add-on or extension on Firefox. I remedied that situation long ago by either removing or disabling it. With all that in mind, I just did a Google search with some of these terms. Perhaps one of the results at this Google page lead to the answer-the first looks promising:
