Mario,
I figured out why we are getting that message It is an early release if
you type Mozilla Thunderbird in the search field on your start screen if
your using windows 8.1 and arrow down to
:https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird
then press enter and on the page that comes up enter on releases
and you will get this
Download Thunderbird Earlybird or Beta & Help Determine the Next
Thunderbird — Mozilla
which explaines why we are getting that message it is an earlier bird
release that has not actually been released yet

Anna, I get the 404 file not found message too. I then Googled for the
release notes and the first result was
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/releases/
after going to that page, I don't see any link for 38.7.2 release. maybe
the document hasn't been posted yet? <shrug>
