It's called "user verbosity." I have mine set at "intermediate," and I don't 
get this annoying verbiage. As Jorge says, one place to find the setting is in 
the JAWS key+v JAWS quick settings menu.

Take a look at the jaws option menu and look at how jaws speaks, and adjust
one of the option to some, from most,
And set it to advance user,
Listen, I cannot remember the whole menu exactly.

Also try insert +V for jaws settings,

In Jaws 16, when alt-tabbing between windows, Jaws says "task switching,
running applications list box".  Instead of just saying the name of the
program, it always speaks the running applications list message before
saying what program it's on.  Is there a way to get rid of this message?
