It's called "user verbosity." I have mine set at "intermediate," and I don't get this annoying verbiage. As Jorge says, one place to find the setting is in the JAWS key+v JAWS quick settings menu.

In Jaws 16, when alt-tabbing between windows, Jaws says "task switching, running applications list box". Instead of just saying the name of the program, it always speaks the running applications list message before saying what program it's on. Is there a way to get rid of this message? Thanks.
