Good afternoon Jaws Users list, a member shared this converter with my group, I thank Ron for this information.
m4a-to-mp3-converter.exe, offered by and downloadable from ManiacTools at http://www.maniactools.com/, is a free accessible converter of m4a, m4b aac, 3GP and other formats to either mp3 or uncompressed wav files. Its menus are all JAWS accessible; however, there are a few items at the top of the screen which you may need to use hot keys or the JAWS cursor to click, such as "Add Files", "Help" and "Convert (Hot keys include F1 = Help and F5 = Convert). The size of the download file is small, about 6.4 MB and it seemed clean with no extra unwantables to install. I just converted my Toshiba laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and wanted to listen to several of the group's audio tutorials while customizing and acquainting myself with the new operating system. Instead of constantly silencing the audio in Media Player and Alt-Tabbing back and forth to the screens and menus being discussed, I desired to put these files on my player furnished by the Library of Congress, Services for the Blind, so I could start and stop the audio at will, as well as controlling the playback speed, while maintaining my place in the tutorial.
