I been following this thread, and it looks like you should press insert +
spacebar, then S as a toggle to stop jaws from talking,.

How do I get total recorder to not record jaws commands as I record? I have
unchecked virtual mode kernel driver, etc., and it still does it. I have
total recorder 8.6, and am running a W10 computer with jaws 18 beta. In the
advanced window of total recorder, there are two references to the kernel
driver, so which one should I uncheck? Jims
