Do you have a Wifi connection or a Ethernet cable connection? If it is the latter, just unplug the Ethernet cable. If it is a laptop, most have either a Function key combination or a physical switch to turn off the WiFi and Bluetooth radios. On the Thinkpads that I use (T420 and X220) there is a tiny slide switch on the side that turns off the radios. You can also disable the network adapters through the control panel/Network/Adapter Settings.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] limit internet access

Is there a way in windows 7 and 10 to turn internet access off? I am not
sure if it was windows 98 or xp that had a feature to have the internet
access available only when needed. A few weeks ago my system had some
vicious attacks. After a few attempts they did break through my firewall. I
would like to have it available only when downloading or sending email,
system updates and internet searching. I do see in my firewall settings that
I can stop all traffic. Just not sure if they could still break through with
this activated.
