Outlook /safe:3 and press enter
It said, that it will remove add ons for a better experience...

This happens to me about as often as it happens to you. Knowing that
technology is seldom perfect, I never considered sending in a report to FS
but perhaps I should reconsider.

Yes, I have this happen periodically as well.
I'm using Outlook 2016 and Jaws 17 here.
It's anoying to say the least.

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone had an email open in Outlook and then your focus goes back to the
inbox? Then if I do a alt+tab it will go back to the email I had open. I
have had this happen maybe once or twice a day. Has anyone else had this
issue. This just started doing this about one or two months ago.
I am using Jaws 18, Outlook 2010 and W10
