Michael, Try going to JAWS quick settings dialog with JAWS key+v. You'll land on an edit field. Type "language" (without the quotation marks) and you'll bring up a list of three relevant items, beginning with language detection. I believe language detection doesn't work with all synthesizers. I hope it does with yours.
