Jean, I do the same with Word documents. There, you can locate the space for a signature or, if need be, create one. By contrast, the PDF W9 (a U.S. tax document) has no space where you'd put your signature, and the PDF format seems to prevent us from creating any.

In the end, I had to have my girlfriend show me where to sign and then have her create a new PDF file with my signed W9. Someone else was trying to see if the W9 could be converted from PDF to a word file, but that didn't come about, either. Maybe someone who has an answer will see your message. I hope so.
