I was hoping someone might respond with a more constructive suggestion. I have this kind of problem with messages containing tables. The workaround for me is to copy the message, paste it into Notepad, and then copy again and paste into an MS Word document. Although the tables are gone, the text is intact.
It isn't clear you're having exactly the same problem, but you might try this method.
