As a user of a variety of laptops, I used to find it difficult to remember
which key did what on which machine.  Once I learned that by pressing the
Function key, you are turning on the num pad.  So if you have someone review
with you the lay out of the embedded num pad on your laptop, and set your
JAWS keyboard setting to Desktop, you don't have to worry about having to
convert desktop keyboard commands to laptop keyboard commands.  The down
side of doing this is that for some multiple key commands you have to be
very flexible, or grow an extra finger or two.
