Press INSERT+F11 when on the desktop. Supposedly, you can also just press TAB when on the desktop until you loop around to it, but my experience is that very frequently, you don't then get anywhere by pressing ENTER on an item when navigating this way. After you've looked at the System Tray after INSERT+F11, press TAB four times to get to the Cancel button.
