Hi Taika, If you don't want to be bothered by certain updates, once you know what they are, you can go onto the Microsoft Update page, and run a custom scan on your computer.
Once the scan is finished, it will show you the results, along with why it thinks you need to install them. If you uncheck the checkbox at the top of the update, you can arrow down to a button, or link that says hide these updates. This will hide the updates until you decide you want to install them again. One thing you should be aware of, and that is, that if you click on the link or button that says to hide these updates, if you don't uncheck the box before you update it, it will download the update to your computer anyway, so don't forget to uncheck the box. There used to be a way for you to hide the updates and unselect them through the automatic live updates on your system tray, but Microsoft found out about it when everyone who had illegal copies of Windows was just unchecking the box for the WGA tool, and hiding it, that way they didn't have to authenticate their version of Windows, but they haven't eliminated the whole hide the updates thing, they just want you to go through the website before you can do it, so they can keep tabs on who is logging onto their site and hiding the updates. This gives them a defence if someone decides to sue them if their computer gets a virus or something malicious. Oh, we provided the updates, the customer viewed them and purposely chose not to install them. So we tried your honour!!! Anyway, ever since that happened withg the WGA tool, the only way I know of that you can do what you have indicated about hiding updates is on the Microsoft Update Webpage.
