Annette,

That is correct. That's one thing I like about outlook, everything is in
one file.

thanks

  Hi Al,

Thanks for replying. Let me make sure I understand you correctly. All I
need to do is open "My Computer" window and navigate to where the pst file
resides. Just copy it from there and paste it where ever I want to save
the
backup. By doing this, I will have backed up all of my mail folders, my
contacts, tasks, calendar and notes? is this correct?

  Thanks,
  Annette

  Annette,

I use outlook and simply back up the Outlook.pst and archive folders to my
slave drive where I keep backups. Just highlight and select copy

Does any one on this list use Outlook instead of Outlook Express? If so,
can anyone help me with a question about backing up Outlook?

What is the easiest and safest way to frequently backup my Outlook PST
  file?
Can I just make a copy of the pst file and save it some where other then
  my
hard drive? Do I need to export the file and save it elsewhere? Or do I
need to use a third party software package to back it up?

  Thanks,
  Annette
