Is there a JAWS script for Spybot Search & Destroy? I've downloaded the
program, but could not find the "blind users" version. I tried to find info
on Kim's site, but got tired of searching around.

  Thanks,
  Annette

  Hey, Guys!

I can sympathize about the Norton hatred! I also use AVG Free edition,
and absolutely love it! As for spyware preventives, I use Spybot Search &
Destroy, AdAware, Spyware Blaster (but only for its hosts file locking
ability), and finally, I have installed a custom hosts file, which actually
prevents 99% of all of that crap from happening in the first place.

I got all of the knowledge on hosts files from Kim Komando. You can
  find her site here:

  http://www.komando.com

It took me a while to have all of that theory sink in, but once I
understood it, I was extremely glad that I took the time. Actually, it
would have taken a lot less time, but I was quite busy at the time.

A custom hosts file actually prevents Spyware from getting on your
computer in the first place, by fooling your computer into believing that it
has gone to the Website you just typed into the address bar, because the
custom hosts file knows many of the servers that dump Spyware on people's
computers. It just won't let your computer go there. So, if you can't go
there, you can't get dumped on, ... now, if you absolutely have to go there,
you can over-ride the hosts file, and take your life into your own hands.

Secondly, the custom hosts file cripples any Spyware that is already on
your computer, so that it cannot "call home" to Eastern Europe, or wherever,
sharing your credit card number with a thug. If the Spyware cannot call
home, it is pretty much harmless.

See, isn't that amazing? Go out to her site, and read about it, and if
I can help, then, let me know. I am fairly busy, because I am an investor,
but I will do my best to help, if possible.

  Enjoy!

  Billy
