Donnie, I tried to add you to my MSN messenger to see if I could help you and your friend, but you had already signed off. What version of JAWS and MSN is your friend using?
I am guessing that your friend was having a problem with the JAWS focus. I was having that problem when I first launched a conversation. I then used the tab key to move around the screen and eventually found the typing window. At that point I was able to also use the Alt+1 to read the last message sent. Alt+2 reads the second to last message sent, and so on through 9. Let me know if this does not work.
