Does AutoSizer put a folder in c:\program files?
If so, are there any sound files there?

Okay, try also assigning a sound to the Maximize event in the Sounds
manager. It may very well be that you don't have anything assigned as the
Windows Default sound--I discovered that was true on my system just this
week.
