Okay, one thing I've noticed is that when you try to read the hot key assignment after opening the desktop shortcut with ALT+ENTER, you sometimes can't do so very well. I don't know if this is a JAWS or Windows issue. Sometimes, I can get better results by opening the files on my C drive, opening Documents and Settings, opening my personal folder there, opening the Desktop folder, and editing the shortcut there instead of pressing ALT+ENTER while on the desktop.
