Hi Priscilla, I currently have no problems navigating the Yahoo web site when it comes to e-mail.
If your friend is using Jaws 5 and above, that makes things even easier. While it can be frustrating at first, with the 696 links you have to wade through to get to where you want to go, once you do find what you want, you can put place markers on the page where all he has to do is press the letter K on his keyboard and it takes him or her to that spot right away. To set this up, when on the Yahoo web page, go to where he has to enter or the link he or she wants, for example, when they hear inbox, hit the key combination of ctrl-shift-k and that will bring up the place marker dialog box. You will land on the place marker list first, but just tab once to the add button, and press space bar. this will bring up another dialog box where he can then name the place marker and all he has to do is hit enter and the place marker is added. Once he's finished with the place marker, just tab to ok and that will take him back to the web page. Now when he goes to that page, all he has to do is hit the letter k and it will take him to his place marker of the inbox. at that point, he'll have to hit enter to go to his inbox, and once on that page, he can hit the letter t for table, and it will land him on the checkbox of the list of e-mails he's got in his inbox. I should note that he should hit the ctrl key to silence Jaws before hitting the place marker, otherwise Jaws will continue reading from the place marker on and he might enter on a link he doesn't want. As an example, I have the sign-in page in my favourites folder, and when I want to check my e-mail, I just press the alt-a hotkey for my favourites, then the letter y for Yahoo mail. that takes me to the sign-in page. On that page, I have a place marker set on the edit field of the user name. So I silence Jaws with the ctrl key, press the letter k and I can hit enter to enter my user name and password and hit enter. That takes me to the e-mail homepage, where I have my place marker set to the inbox link. Then I arrow down and up to my bulk folder and inbox as I want them. You can also get to this list by silencing Jaws and hitting the letter l for list, and that takes you to the list of five items, inbox, sent items, drafts and bulk and trash bolders. in any case, once I've chosen the link I ant, be it inbox or bulk folder, Once the page has loaded, I hit the letter t for table, and that takes me to the ckeckbox at the start of the e-mail list. You can then use the standard table navigating commands of up or down arrow to go through the table horizontally, or the ctrl-alt-left and right arrow to navigate through the table one cell at a time. If he sees an e-mail he wants to read, he can go to the subject line, and hitting enter. In the resulting page, he can hit the letter t for table again, and that will take him to the to line of the message. As far as navigating the folders, once you go through the list of folders, you just arrow further down and it gives you the list of folders Visit the JAWS Users list home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com For a complete list of email commands pertaining to the JAWS Users List send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit the new archives page at the following address http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Yahoo!
