If you are using Microsoft Office:

With your file open in power point, choose File, Send to then select
Microsoft Word. Keystrokes are ALT + F, then D, then W. Depending on how
complex the power point file is, you made need to do some, or a lot, of
cleaning up.

Hope this works for you.

Subject: [jaws-users] Powerpoint presentations

Folks:
I have several PowerPoint presentations I want to be able to store as
text files. I'd also like to be able to read all the slides at once.
I've looked at the JAWS contextual help and talked to two Techs at FS so
far and haven't really got a handle on this yet.

I also opened the presentation in MS Word, and while the text appeared,
there was too much garbage included to make it practical.

I can read individual slides with the JAWS cursor, but I can't seem to
select the text the cursor is reading.

Any suggestions?
