Gold wave is a complete audio editor, fully featured for mono or stereo sound
files. No it does not have a feature to allow you to burn to a CD or DVD.
This is why it is called an editor. The good thing about all of this is that
if you already have a optical drive on your system chances are that it is
already equipped with your burner of choice. I had to get Nero 5.5 I think
that is the correct version because the version of Nero that came with this
system just didn't work for me well enough to suit my needs.

Hi David,
thanks for confirming that Gold wave is what I was looking for. One point
though. I went to the gold wave homepage. they give a comparison between it
and another program called multiquence. An interesting thing I noticed in
this comparison, is that they say gold wave has no CD burning capability. I
thought the idea was, you could copy from audio cassette to cd with it. Did
I pick this up wrong? Do you need to use a cd burning program like Nero
after you use gold wave to copy from tape onto your desk top?
thanks a lot
Jason
