Al -

I can answer your first question and the answer is a definite yes. You
really don't want active (or potentially active) pieces of two different
antivirus programs on your computer at the same time. While I agree with Jay
that doing the uninstall won't remove _everything_ that Norton has put in
there, it'll remove enough. Be sure to uninstall LiveReg and LiveUpdate,
too, unless you have some other product installed that uses either. Open the
Add or Remove Programs item on the Control Panel and remove anything that
says either Norton or Symantec, but uninstall them in the correct order--you
can't uninstall LiveUpdate, for example, before you remove Norton Anti
Virus.

As to your second question, I simply don't know. Perhaps there's
documentation you can access on the AVG web site that'll tell you.

Subject: [jaws-users] Installing AVG

Good evening,

Well I've decided to switch from Norton to AVG for virus protection. Two
questions. Should I uninstallNorton before installing AVG?(assume so)
Also, does AVG scan for spyware, worms, & Trojans as does Norton antiviurs
2006?

thanks
Al
