Hi Margaret,
While this is true, people can still download and use the version on the
JFWLite website.
This is the version, 1.4, which is not supported, but works just fine
I've been using it for several years as well, and had never given any
thought to upgrading it.
This version should continue to work well, until there is a drastic change
in the operating system, or Outlook Express.
I guess we won't know for sure until Vista. smile.

Ricque,

I've used the program for several years and still have it on this
machine, but there's some bad news for people who have only recently
downloaded and installed it. I'd love to know if the company has
changed its mind, but badk in April the web site said:

Important notice to e-Backup customers

What happened?
After 5 years of service, e-Backup has reached its end of life. This
means that as of January 1, 2006 you will no longer be able to
purchase an e-Backup
license.
e-Backup main window screenshot Will it become freeware?
No, e-Backup will remain shareware. Technically this means that since
we won't issue any new licenses, trial users cannot continue using it
after the 90
day trial period. However, registered users can continue using
e-Backup for as long as they like.

Help! But I have a problem with my e-Backup!
We will continue to offer email support for our existing customers
until January 1, 2007. Before contacting our support team please read
the
Frequently Asked Questions
section or the online
e-Backup 1.4 manual.
In case you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact
our support team at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

But I lost my registration information!?
We will no longer be issuing registrations to new users. In case
registered customers need a copy of their original registration
information they can request
it by contacting our support team (see above).

Can I still download it?
Our last public release was from January 2003. This release, e-Backup
1.4 build 606, can be downloaded
here
(1452 KB). Please beware that for customers without a valid license,
this version comes unsupported. Use at your own risk.

How do I backup my data now?
The Inachis support team can give advice to registered users how to
migrate to other backup solutions. If you need any help with this,
please contact our
support team (see above).

What are you going to do?
First of all, we would like to thank all e-Backup users for their
great help and feedback in making e-Backup one of the most used tools
for backing-up Outlook
Express data, Internet Explorer favorites and Windows Address Book.
However, in the past years our priorities have shifted to other
software projects that
take up more and more of our time. As we cannot continue to allocate
the necessary resources in the future, we decided it's better to stop
than to have
dissatisfied customers. Anyway, there are many other backup utilities
out there and we hope we see you as a customer in the future again!
Thanks for your
support!

My copy is licensed and I can't confirm that the program will just
stop working after 90 days for folks who don't have registered it. I
have the name of a similar program that supposed to be JAWS friendly
somewhere that I plan on trying soon.

The scripts should go in the user folder of the version of Jaws you

There should be some instructions on how to copy script files
to the proper location, on the Jaws-Users website.
As far as E-backup goes, it's actually a pretty cool program, and
works well
with Jaws.
I've been using it for quite some time, and it works as advertised.
Hmmm, imagine that, in the world of Windows! smile
HTH,

Hi,

I have down loaded the E-Back Up program from JFWLite. I also
downloaded
the scripts as well. Are you suppose to copy the scripts and paste
them
somewhere in the jaws script file? If so which one. Have many of you
tried
this program and if so what do you think of it?
